Members and Staff Roles in Campaign 2014

 General and sample activities for each layer are noted below.

 

Regional Political Organizer

  • Develop and lead implementation of the Campaign 2014 Regional Plan.
  • Gather and report progress toward all campaign and PAC organizing goals.
  • Develop presentations and materials to facilitate organizing and mobilization efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campaign staff of recommended candidates.
  • Lead building visits and campaign presentations with boards, committees, and members.
  • Recruit and maintain communications with Team Captains, governance, staff, and members.
  • Serve as lead volunteer coordinator, phone bank coordinator, and participant in member volunteer activities.

 

UniServ Staff

  • Develop and help implement the Campaign 2014 Regional Plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with recommended candidates/campaign staff.
  • Facilitate building visits for RPOs and participate in site visits.
  • Assist in the recruitment of Team Captains and member volunteers.
  • Work with assigned association committees in support of campaign goals.
  • Participate in member volunteer activities.

 

Local Administrative Staff

  • Support Campaign 2014 PAC efforts with PAC processing.
  • Support Campaign 2014 activist recruiting with VAN data support (list development and data entry).
  • Participate in member volunteer activities.

 

Local President/Board of Directors

  • Develop and approve the Campaign 2014 Regional Plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with recommended candidates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with allied organizations/leaders.

 

GR Committee

  • Develop and approve the Campaign 2014 Regional Plan.
  • Establish relationships with recommended candidate campaigns and identify a lead liaison for each campaign back to the committee.  Liaisons will serve as points of contact for candidates and will be the basis of Action Team leaders for future lobbying and legislative support.
  • Serve as lead surrogates for member-to-member outreach goals (i.e. identify Team Captains, participate in 10 minute meetings, answer questions about endorsement process and why the local endorsed targeted candidates).
  • Participate in all member volunteer activities noted below.

 

Other Local Association Committees

  • Adopt Campaign Nights as part of the regional plan (i.e. Membership Committee makes volunteer recruitment calls; Community Outreach Committee makes GOTV calls for Early Vote)
  • Include asks for PAC and volunteer recruitment goals during meetings and events

 

Building Representatives/Team Captains

  • Organize 10 minute meetings
  • Lead/support follow-up of members who complete commit to vote and volunteer forms
  • Serve as phone bank host
  • Serve as spokesman/surrogate for recommended campaigns

  • Commit to vote; give to PAC
