Complaints Concerning Staff

A.  As a general rule, complaints from parents and other communi­ty sources shall be dealt with at the lowest organizational level.

B.  Decisions on complaints shall not be made without consult­ing the subordinate against whom the complaint was lodged.

C.  In order to safeguard the rights of all persons involved, each will have the right and opportunity to attend all sched­uled meetings concerning the complaint.

D.  In the event that a complaint is lodged against an employee, he/she shall be notified as soon as possible and be given all pertinent information unless prohibited by State or Federal law (i.e., child abuse).

NOTE: – Teachers have the right to representation at any meeting which could result in disciplinary action against the teacher (SBOE guidelines).
